The use of process mapping as a solution-focused approach to improvements in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services is described. Some collaborative strategies for service user participation in agreeing 'shared purpose' and setting goals for service improvement are described.

This session is aimed at more experienced/specialist users and offers an overview of effective collaborative working in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). The concept of ‘adhocracy’ is introduced to distinguish between flexible and rigid organisational structures. It is argued that effective leadership is essential to support service change.

Outcome Evaluation and Monitoring (MindEd)

This session is aimed at more experienced/specialist users and explores why routine outcome monitoring is a core component of the Children and Young People's Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme from a leadership perspective. In addition to its role in assessment and treatment monitoring, routine outcome monitoring provides Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service leaders with vital management information.
